last post for march

My uncle killed himself on Wednesday. Not my blood uncle, and he and my aunt had recently split up. But there were a ton of other things going on in which I don't feel sorry for him, and I don't think anybody else should either. It's harder for his wife and kids, though.

I'm taking my next Excet test next weekend. I have to go up to Lubbock.

Things are all crazy.

comics for this week

Still busy. I'm taking another Excet test, the one that everyone has to take, on April the 8th. It shouldn't be nearly as hard as the History test was. At least I hope not. There are study sessions and stuff for this one, so I'm all for that.

The slimpacks of seasons four, five, and six of The X-Files come out on Tuesday. That means I might get them, and the movie, on Friday. Then I can watch Millennium in the order it came on in relation to The X-Files. It makes me happy.

Here's comics for this week. Soon enough I won't have to order in bulk shipments of two or three weeks at a time. That will be good.

Action Comics #837, which is part two of the "One Year Later" story; All Star Superman #3, which is beautiful; Batman: Journey Into Knight #8 (of 12), which I'm way behind on; Blue Beetle #1, which I'm really looking forward to; Books of Doom #5 (of 6), which is wordy but wonderful; Captain America: 65th Anniversary Special, which should be great; Fallen Angel #4 (of 5), which is just beautiful; Fantastic Four #532, which is the Thor issue and makes me dance; G0dland #9, which is awesome; Green Lantern #10, which is always good; Invincible #30, which is one of my favorites; Iron Man #6, which is end of the Warren Ellis arc; JLA Classified #19, which I'm getting by arcs now; Legends of the Dark Knight #202, which I'm very very behind on; New Avengers: Illuminati, which should be beautiful; The Sentry #7 (of 8), which is a mind-fuck; Spike vs. Dracula #2 (of 5), which is full of Peter David and Spike goodness; Soulfire #6, which is pretty; Superman/Batman #24, which I enjoy; The Thing #5, which is just plain good; Ultimate Spider-Man #92, which is always great; Uncanny X-Men #471, which I'm behind on; Untold Tales of the New Universe: Psi-Force, which should be interesting; The Walking Dead #27, which is always good; and X-Men: Deadly Genesis #5 (of 6), which is wonderful.

And some lovely covers.

Sleep.

update

I'm so busy.

Nothing much is going on. My puppy is cute. I'm moving soon. I registered for my next Texes exam, which I'm going to have to take in Lubbock on April the 8th. I'm behind on comics. I need more money. The same old stuff.

Different day.

the colorado kid

The Colorado Kid is the worst Stephen King novel ever. Worse than and Cujo and The Tommyknockers. It's incredibly short and took me forever to get through. It's a mystery without a conclusion and the author's note makes it sound horribly pretentious. It echoes of Graham Greene in the bad way. I've begun Cell and find it enjoyable, though. It has zombies. Cell phone zombies. And giant lamp monsters. The man can be very hit and miss.

comics for this week

Holy crap I've been busy. I started at Permian this week for my student teaching, but I really haven't been doing anything but observing. I get tomorrow off and next week for spring break, which should be nice.

Starbuck continues to be adorable.

I went and saw a double feature of Capote and Good Night and Good Luck last evening with Travis and one of his friends. They were both amazing, especially Capote. I have to go read In Cold Blood now.

Here's comics for this week. I won't get any these for a while. But I'll get them.

American Virgin #1, which should be entertaining; Army of Darkness #5, which starts a new story; Batman and the Monster Men #5 (of 6), which is just beautiful; Down #4 (of 4), whch is Warren Ellis; The Exterminators #3, which I haven't checked out yet but want to; Fables #47, which is always good; Fantastic Four: First Family #1 (of 6), which should be wonderful; Fell #4, which is more Warren Ellis; Firestorm #23, which I'm really behind on; Hard Time Season Two #4, which I have but haven't started yet; Invincible #29, which is always wonderful; Masters of Horror #3 (of 12), which is great; Matador #6 (of 6), which is really late, for some reason; Powers #17, which is one of my favorites; The Pulse #14, which is Bendis's last issue; Sensational Spider-Man #24, which is usually good; Sentinel Squad One #3 (of 5), which has giant robots; Seven Soldiers: Frankenstein #3 (of 4), which should be good; Seven Soldiers: Mister Miracle #4 (of 4), which should also be good; Son of M #4 (of 6), which is just brilliant; Teen Titans #33, which is usually great; Thunderbolts #100, which I'm also really behind on; The Transformers #3, which also has giant robots; Ultimate Spider-Man #91, which is always one of my favorites; Untold Tales of the New Universe: Nightmask, which looks intriging; and X-Men: The 198 #3 (of 5), which is also genius.

And some covers.

All for now.

puppies

I am now sharing my room with a puppy named Starbuck. She's the most adorable thing ever created. She's going to be gigantic, but for now she's tiny and sweet.

Pictures coming soon.

blah

I finished up at OHS. I'll start at Permian next week. I got a good review this morning, so that's good.

My mom is doing a lot better. She had a doctor's appointment this morning and I'm waiting for her to call me and let me know how it went. She's moving whenever she does. We're not sure of a date.

That's all, I think. I haven't seen anybody in weeks, it seems. I miss people. Especially Lacey.
