hospitals

My mom had her surgery yesterday. She is doing okay, for anyone that is interested. She should be out Friday. I anyone would like to come by and see her, please give me a call and I can give you the information. She was up and walking yesterday after the anesthesia from the operation finally went away. All is well. I'm happy.

tests

I just finished my EXCET test for History. I think I did okay. I'm not sure. But I always feel like that after test, and I usually end up doing okay. I've done nothing but study for the past week and a half, so I think I did okay. I certainly hope so.

Sigh. And all that.

crap days

Stress makes my days worse. I had to loan out my paycheck this week. I'll get it back next week, but I also have school dues looming over my head. To think, all that hangs between me and graduation is a little more than a hundred dollars that is really hard to come by because they never fucking schedule me at work and I can't seem to get another job for the life of me.

I need to scream at something. So I'm staying away from people tonight, I think. I have my test tomorrow anyways. Studying is horrible. Nobody cares about the Byzantine Empire.

x-philes

I had forgotten wonderful The X-Files is. I about three fourths of the way through season two. I watched an episode called Endgame this evening. Along with Lost, I'm sure I will fall asleep happily. While I tried to mix these into the other television shows on DVD I've been watching (Miami Vice, Alien Nation, Roswell, Dallas, and Earth 2), it seems I've only been watching it. I feel like it is 1994 all over again. Except I'm not eleven.

I realized the other day that I will be done with college in three months. Three months, and I have no idea what I'm going to do after that. I haven't written anything productive in about three or four months, and I'm not in a position to get back into the habit (which I really have to do) until I'm done with school. My hours at work suck horribly. I'm going to move back in with my mom and find a teaching job until I can save up enough money to get my own place of some sort.

My mother is have life-altering surgery on Tuesday. Afterwards (well, some months down the line), she will resemble skinny and her back will not hurt. But sometime in March (closer to the beginning that the ending), she's also having to move because banks are stupid and mean to middle-class people.

I'm taking my ExCET test this Saturday. The history one. I'm very nervous and unsure about how I'll do. I've been studying what I can but I don't know if it's really helping me out. Ancient world history is lost on me. At the very least, I've learned a lot more in the past two weeks that I knew was out there to know. The upside is that if I suck on it, I can take it again. The downside is that if that happens, I can't do it again until June or so. Stabby stabby fucking stabby stabby.

I'm three weeks behind on comics. My paycheck this Friday will be hardly anything. Because my hours suck and I can't seem to find a job elsewhere. I'm scheduled for fourteen hours next week, so maybe that will keep up a little bit.

I really hope my life starts to have some sort of semblance to a normal life soon. That would be really nice.

say true, say thankya

I finished The Dark Tower last night. I'm happy and incredibly sad, all at the same time. I think I was working at the last book for about a year. I read the first one when I was thirteen. They meant a lot to me. At some point I'll go back and reread the lot of them. But now I'm onto finishing Harry Potter and starting Cell. I also want to reread The Stand (because I think I was fifteen or so when I read that) and read Insomnia.

The scarlet fields of Can'-Ka No Rey sang me to sleep last night. Really late, because I stayed up all night reading about them. Which caused me to be rather sickly this morning. I'm better.
