comics for this week

I should be getting my car either tomorrow or Wednesday. I'm quite excited. I've also revised my comic buying formula for the new year. It should save me some money, or at the very least allow me to spread out my spendings more than I currently do. In any case, here's what's coming out this week that I'll be getting one of these days.

All Star Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder #3, which ought to be getting better; Amazing Fantasy #16, which starts a new story arc featuring Death's Head; Amazing Spider-Man #527, which is part nine of The Other; Batman #648, which is one of my favorites; Black Panther #11, which has gotten much better; Black Widow #4 (of 6), which is wonderful; B.P.R.D.: The Dead #5 (of 6), which is very cool; Catwoman #50, which I'm behind on; Daredevil #80, which is Bendis's last issue and makes me incrediby sad; Daredevil: Father #5 (of 6), which is cool; Drax the Destroyer #4 (of 4), which is a surprisingly beautiful book; Exiles #74, which continues the tour through the New Universe; Fallen Angel #1 (of 5), which should be all kinds of cool; Fantastic Four Special, which should be good; JLA Classified #15, which is the last part of Warren Ellis's story; Loveless #3, which is a wonderful new books; New Avengers #14, which starts a new story drawn by Frank Cho; Revelations #5 (of 6), which I'm still missing an issue of; The Sentry #4 (of 8), which is a wonderful book; She-Hulk #3, which is a fun book; Silent Dragon #6 (of 6), which was a wonderful mini-series; Solo #8, which always seem to be good; Spider-Man/Black Cat: The Evil That Men Do #5 (of 6), which continues the Kevin Smith book; Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane #1, which should be girly and fun; Superman/Batman #23, which is late but welcome; The Thing #2, which had a very nice first issue; 30 Days of Night Annual 2005, which should be good; Thor: Blood Oath #6 (of 6), which was a whole lot of fun; Ultimate Fantastic Four #26, which is a beautiful book; Ultimate Spider-Man #88, which is one of my favorites; What If: Daredevil, which should be good, if the other books of this line are an indication; What If: Thor, see above; Wolverine #37, which I'm behind on; Wonder Woman #224, which is almost over; X-Factor #2, which had a fantastic first issue; X-Men #180, which is always decent; and Young Avengers Special, which I'm looking forward to.

And some covers.

I have to work until 10:30 this evening, but I'm off tomorrow and Wednesday. I'm hoping to spend some time with Craig and Amy before they have to go back up to Austin. It was good seeing them on Friday. And I son't know if I'm going out of town for New Year's anymore. There was some kind of accident involving Lacey's cousin's ex-husband, and as she was the one throwing the little shindig, it might not be happening. Yes, I said shindig. It's a good word.

giant monkies and food poisoning

I saw King Kong with Lacey on Saturday. It's a really wonderful film. I am, however, never going to the theater in the mall again. I will frive to Midland if I have to from now on. Apparently, if you are under sixteen, you are restricted to the movie theater and the food court in the mall after a certain time on the weekends. So all these kids go to see movies as a social event and just talk throughout the entire fucking movie. They have no clue that there's a movie playing up on the giant screen. It was really annoying.

I either have a really bad stomach virus or really bad food poisoning. I have no clue what brought it on, but I spent the morning throwing up the cookies and cream ice cream I ate last night. I've pretty much been sleeping and sweating all day long. I've been surviving on chicken noodle soup and 7-Up, which Lacey was kind enough to bring to me. So that's fun. I did however finish Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and watched the beautiful film adaptation. They really turned that into a wonderful film. It's full of these wide and beautiful shots. And it has Gary Oldman. And a werewolf.

So that was my horrible day. Hopefully tomorrow I won't be do dead. Tomorrow I'm going to get Serenity and the first half of the second season of Battlestar Galactica. And comics. It should be fun.

I'm scheduled for almost 40 hours this week. Which is good. Money is nice to have. To buy things.

Here's comics for this week.

nothing

I had these epidural steroid shots in my neck and back yesterday. Hopefully these will help fix my body, which apparently is equal in parts to that of a 65-year-old man.

Lacey is having her Christmas party tomorrow. It should be fun. I also want to go see King Kong. And, for some odd reason, Brokeback Mountain. And Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire as soon as I can finish the book.

Everybody needs to go buy X-Factor #1 this week. It's one of the best comics to come out in a really long time. Peter David never fails to amaze me in his storytelling ability. And Ryan Sook does just beautiful artwork.

I think that's all. I have nothing of real substance to say anymore, it seems.

And some covers.

That's all for now. Days off a wonderful.

things

I have new love in Arrested Development. I'm also attempting to watch all of 24 before the new season premieres. I'm a little more than halfway through Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, which I'm very much enjoying. Silly wizard books. I shouldn't like them. I have to revise a paper, write two short papers, and take a real final, and then I'll be done with the semester. I'm going to Dallas for New Year's with Blake to hang out with Lacey and her cousins. I also hope to see Greg while I'm up there. I've hardly talked to him since he moved. Work has been good. Different, but good. I started my physical therapy on Friday, and I'm going again on Monday morning. It's also different.

Not much else. Just things.
